Total and Citroën Celebrate a 45-Year Partnership
2013-10-10 10:43:00
Total and Citroën celebrated their 45-year partnership at the Rally France-Alsace, which took place from October 3 to 6. The occasion was especially charged — Sébastien Loeb, nine-time world rally champion as part of the Citroën Total World Rally Team, was competing in his last-ever WRC rally, in front of a home crowd. It all started back in 1968, when the energy company developed a special lubricant for the French carmaker's legendary DS. Since then, the partnership has gone from strength to strength and now focuses on four key areas:
R&D: The two companies work together to develop lubricants specifically for Citroën engines, to make them even more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly. Manufacturing: Total supplies factory fill lubricants to PSA Peugeot Citroën plants throughout the world. Customer service: Citroën recommends Total lubricants in its dealership networks. Motor racing: The partners test the reliability and performance of their products in races under extreme conditions. Moving forward, Total and Citroën's collaboration will include expansion in emerging markets, especially in China, South America and Russia, which are three priority targets for the French carmaker and Total.
