Axel Springer is reorganizing BUSINESS INSIDER Deutschland and investing in expanding its editorial office.

Following the successfully completed set-up phase by finanzen.net GmbH in Karlsruhe, Axel Springer is now taking the next step with BUSINESS INSIDER Deutschland with the aim of exploiting even more strongly the potential of the BUSINESS INSIDER brand in Germany as well.

BUSINESS INSIDER Deutschland will be published by its own company in future and the team is moving to new editorial headquarters in Berlin. The editorial team will see a considerable expansion in terms of new personnel.

The new Business Insider Deutschland GmbH is to be headed by Romanus Otte, 56, and Jakob Wais, 30. As Executive Publishers they are responsible for content, product development and general management. Sabrina Hoffmann, 33, remains Editor-in-Chief.

Romanus Otte is a business journalist with long-standing experience. At Axel Springer he was in charge of WELT's digital activities for many years, among other things as Deputy Editor-in-Chief and General Manager. He most recently coordinated the international cooperation and the knowledge transfer between the Axel Springer companies.

Jakob Wais is a graduate of the Axel Springer Academy and most recently responsible at BILD for the strategic development and distribution of editorial offers. As Director Editorial Partnerships & Innovation at BILD, he also coordinated international partnerships and played a relevant role in developing the content and product strategy.

The aim is to make BUSINESS INSIDER a leading brand for business journalism in Germany too. The focus on young target groups remains unchanged.
Jan Bayer, President News Media International, Axel Springer SE: "We have succeeded in establishing the BUSINESS INSIDER brand economically successfully also in Germany and have managed to tap into a relevant target group. Now is the right time to invest in the editorial offering and in further growth. My special thanks go to Jens Ohr, Peter Schille and Lennart Libercka from finanzen.net, who have brought BUSINESS INSIDER Deutschland to the successful position it now occupies. We are now entering the next phase of development with Romanus Otte and Jakob Wais and adding to the trusted team around Sabrina Hoffmann."
